Members’ Bottom Line is the HTA’s 2007 Focus

With a relentless focus on increasing business opportunities for the entire membership, the Greater Charlotte Hospitality & Tourism Alliance (HTA) will concentrate its 2007 efforts on the following priorities:

I. Focusing on Following Business Development Initiatives and Issues
• Working with the CRVA, City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, other local municipalities and organizations on initiatives required to increase Mecklenburg County’s 2007 hotel revenues by 10% (goal of $423 million), food & beverage revenues by 10 % (goal of $1.98 billion) and car rental revenues by 10% (goal of $179.3 million). These measurable goals will directly impact all hospitality and other related businesses in the region.
• Securing required funding and tools for the CRVA to meet expectations of increased conventions, tourism and overall hospitality business.
• Keep a focus and partner with CRVA on bookings for 2009-2011.
• Leading required efforts to provide our region with the necessary athletic fields and determination to become the Amateur Sports Capital of the South.
• Providing leadership in efforts required to make our entire region a better and more visitor-friendly destination.
• Active involvement in addressing transportation issues, including the development of a major upgraded taxicab system for Charlotte.
• Active involvement with initiatives related to the Convention Center, Bobcat Arena, AAA Baseball Stadium, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Arts & Cultural Facilities Master Plan, Whitewater Park, airport & airport expansion plans, Charlotte Merchandise Mart, amateur sporting facilities, Ramblewood Soccer Complex shopping & event venues, regional tourism initiatives & destination packages and better utilization of all existing events and assets to attract more visitors to the region.
• Serving as a resource and advisor for members’ business development needs and solutions for their business challenges
• Expand initiatives to increase member to member business opportunities.

II. Continuous focus on building and enhancing relationships and partnerships with designated decision makers and partners in order to maximize the hospitality industry’s awareness of values, opportunities, challenges and to increase our clout and influence.

III. Relentlessly addressing public safety concerns impacting businesses

IV. Addressing workforce issues and increasing workforce development initiatives

V. Focus on making the HTA a stronger organization, continuously enhance the value of membership and our already superb meetings, events and special offers.
